His case has attracted little attention in the Indian media, except for Tehelka which ran a cover story three months ago.

Now there’s a global appeal to release him. The signatories include 22 Nobel laureates. Is anyone listening?

  1. Well, there was a programme on NDTV last night; but yes, in general, no one knows or cares.

  2. A naive question: why don’t people care?Scares the bejesus out of me that they can pick up someone at random, label him a Naxalite and lock him up indefinitely.

  3. spacebar – yes, I dont’ follow TV much. (Can’t say I read the papers much, either…)km – it’s not even someone “at random”, it’s senior people in the People’s Union for Civil Liberties, which has many lawyers working for it.

Like in not unhinged Like in publishing full length rejoinders from anyone who differs from the paper’s point of view, like in afflicting the smug cluless ones. While the US is lucky to have just on Fox, the entire mass media network in India is a Fox.
